HONG KONG (SE): A member of the Institute of Marist Brothers of the Schools, Brother Pierre Bosco Wei Siao Shan, died in Hong Kong on November 15. He was 87-years-old.

Born in Beijing on 16 April 1928, he entered the brothers’ juniorate in his home city in 1940, graduating to novitiate in 1947, making his first profession on 5 August 1948 and final profession on the same date in 1953.

Priest’s body found in river

HONG KONG (UCAN): The body of Father Pedro Yu Heping, from the unofficial Church community in China, was found in the Fen River, a tributary to the Yellow River, which runs through Shanxi province on November 8.

Father Yu, who was also known as Wei Heping, ran a website that ran afoul of Chinese authorities some time ago. His death is being described as mysterious.
