In the parable, the master provokes the anger of the workers of the first hour, who cannot even stand up for fatigue, when they are forced to witness an irritating scene of the same wages that they were promised being paid to the idlers. It is in this surprising and disconcerting behaviour of the master that the message of the parable is perceived. Let us analyse it deeper.

HONG KONG (UCAN): Bishop Michael Yeung Ming-cheung, the new bishop of Hong Kong, has described his approach to dealing with China as one of healthy realism that must consider ongoing talks between the Vatican and Beijing.

HONG KONG (SE): Indian Father Tom Uzhunnalil of the Salesians of Don Bosco, who was abducted by Islamic State militants in Yemen on 4 March 2016, was finally freed on September 12 after 18 months in captivity.

HONG KONG (SE): A Mass was celebrated by Bishop Michael Yeung Ming-cheung, at Mother of Good Counsel parish, San Po Kong, to mark the 50th and the 60th anniversaries of religious profession of Sister Peter Chua and Sister Felicitas Nisperos of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd on September 10.

Missing bishop resurfaces

WENZHOU (UCAN): Bishop Shao Zhuming, from Wenzhou, who has been missing since security officials detained him in April, just before Easter, has resurfaced at a Beijing hospital. Through a WeChat message, the bishop from the unofficial Church community said he was scheduled to have ear surgery on September 11.
