Back home during my vacation

What I was looking forward to when I went home for my vacation was bonding with my family. I had a great vacation recently. We didn’t go to other places besides our farm. We took our bath near the river, picked fruit, harvested vegetables and played with my nephews. And of course not to forget our food trip. I ate whatever food came to my mind as I know I won’t be able to eat them here in Hong Kong.

St. Alfred’s Got Talent

The St. Alfred Guitarists held their first thanksgiving celebration at the parish hall in Shatin on July 9. The theme for the day was Showcasing Our God Given Talents. The programme featured a mixture of Christian songs, love melodies and rock.
 
It was an afternoon of praying while playing, as the strings of the guitars spelled out the prayer of the fingers that plucked them.

Today we are invited to reflect on Jesus’ recommendations on how to find someone who fail or gets lost.  Jesus says, “Your Father in heaven doesn’t want even one of these little ones to perish.” 
 
It is up to the shepherd, of course, to search for the sheep that is lost, wounded or at risk of falling into a deep and dark ravine.

HOTAN (UCAN): Authorities in China’s Xinjiang region are thought to be detaining ethnic minority Kazakhs for wearing Islamic clothing and praying, a practice forbidden by the Communist Party on university campuses.

Death Notice - Sister Cara Perego

HONG KONG (SE): Canossian Sister Carla Perego (白寧靄修女) died on the evening of August 28 at the age of 89 after 64 years of missionary life.
 
In May, Sister Perego suffered a minor stroke and was transferred to Villa Bakhita for better care. However, on August 22 she suffered a double stroke and was admitted to Canossa Hospital as her condition rapidly deteriorated.
