CHRISTMAS AND FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY

This year the day after Christmas is the Feast of the Holy Family (Sunday, December 26). It is the decision of Bishop Joseph ZEN sdb, that on Saturday, December 25, all Masses should follow the Proper of Christmas. However, parish priests may, for justifiable pastoral reasons, adopt the Proper of the Feast of the Holy Family for the evening Masses on December 25.

Note: The faithful have the obligation to participate in the Mass on Christmas Day (participation in the Midnight Mass will be sufficient), and in an additional Mass on the Feast of the Holy Family in order to fulfill their Sunday obligation. However, Parish Priests and confessors may, for justifiable pastoral reasons, dispense individual faithful from fulfilling one of the foregoing obligations.
