Seminary holds graduation ceremony


HONG KONG (SE): “Put into practice what you have learned doing the mission of evangelisation, to respond to the Year of Faith,” John Cardinal Tong Hon, told graduates from the Holy Spirit Seminary at a ceremony on December 2 at the Christ the King Chapel in Causeway Bay.

Twenty-three priests concelebrated a Mass with the bishop of Hong Kong at a graduation Mass for the 50 graduates; 18 from the faculty of theology, 13 from the faculty of philosophy and 19 from the faculty of religious studies. Ten of the graduates are seminarians. Four graduated in philosophy and six in theology. The remaining 40 graduates are either religious or lay people.

The Chinese-language Kung Kao Po reported that the seminarians and religious will continue their formation programmes.

One lay graduate said, “Four years of formation helped me to clarify Christian identity and deepen my awareness that we are created in the image and likeness of God.”
