Christ the King Eucharistic Procession

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

The Feast of Christ the King was established by Pope Pius XI in 1925 during a time of secularism when God was forgotten in the lives of many. The feast is intended to proclaim Christ’s royalty over the human race.

Once again this year, the Catholic Community in Discovery Bay held the Christ the King Eucharistic procession on November 22 and we continue to declare Christ’s dominion over all people and nations.

The turnout of parishioners was excellent. Father Manoj Mullackal and Father John Zhang led the procession with 29 altar servers and 27 children dressed in white as angels.

Father Zhang carried the blessed sacrament as we processed along the main road singing hymns and praying.

The procession ended with benediction at the open plot of land in Discovery Bay. It was a wonderful and most memorable event. We encourage all parishes in Hong Kong to organise a procession on the Feast of Christ the King or Feast or for Corpus Christi.
