Bibles galore

HONG KONG (SE): China remains by far the largest bible factory in the world, with latest statistics released by the Amity Printing Company showing that over 12 million copies were churned off the presses in China during 2015, the majority for export, the China Christian Daily reported on January 21.

Amity Printing Company is by far the world’s largest producer of bibles, with over 142 million published since its establishment in 1988. They are distributed in more than 70 countries in over 90 languages, including those of ethnic minorities and Braille.

With an annual printing capacity of over 20 million books, the Amity Printing Company provides affordable bibles of high quality, but it also values its corporate social responsibility and sustainability. In 2015, it opened a service centre in Ethiopia.

It is a joint venture between the Amity Foundation and the United Bible Societies.
