Thousands prepare for baptism

HONG KONG (SE):   “You have not only found the light, you also have to transform it into a light that will illuminate the world,” John Cardinal Tong Hon told catechumens preparing to be baptised at the Easter Vigil.

Speaking at a Rite of Introduction, also known as the scrutinies, on March 6 at the St. Francis of Assisi, Shamshuipo, the bishop of Hong Kong told the catechumens that through baptism, they are called to be witnesses to the faith through service to the Church, and especially through serving the young and the weak.

Around 3,200 adults are preparing to receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil celebration in various parishes around Hong Kong.
