HONG KONG (SE): Taxi drivers held a short rally at the gates of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception during the 9.30am Mass on April 10 asking for permission to take their clients inside the Holy Cross Cemetery in the Cape Collision area of Chai Wan. Currently the front gate to the cemetery is a dead end for taxi drivers, which leaves their clients a long walk to reach graves in various parts of the area. The drivers set up a banner at the entrance to the cathedral saying that they have already spent money on this cause and made a request for better traffic conditions, but to date nothing has been done. The drivers presented a petition to the diocese to support their cause and are waiting to see what eventuates. |
