Silhouette of God’s love

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness

was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved

on the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light:

and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good:

and God divided the light from the darkness (Genesis 1:1-4)

In the splendour

of his glorious throne,

His majesty

our King and God alone,

Worship him

before this splendid shrine,

In the midst of darkness,

his light shine.

He is here

watching over us day and night,

Surely when trouble comes

we are in his sight.

Under the shadow of his wings

we feel secure,

Great is his love and care,

so bright and pure.

Night is not dark

because he is our true light.

Do not be afraid,

he walks before us to fight.

Hold on,

remember the words he has spoken.

Faithful God,

his promise has never been broken.

Indeed morning has broken,

light of sun is here.

Shining brilliantly

on all the earth every where.

Where the good and the bad,

from east to west

Confessing his name,

they shall find eternal rest.

Darkness has no power

over this marvellous light

Jesus is true God and true Man, our souls’ delight

Let us walk humbly

with the light he has given

And, to reach our own true home above, in heaven.
