Face of Mercy for Helping Hand

HONG KONG (SE): In honour of the Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis, Solomusica Hong Kong has organised a concert under the name of the Face of Mercy in support of Helping Hand, a group founded under the inspiration of the late Maryknoll Father Sean Burke in 1978, which now runs a number of nursing homes in the territory for people in their sunset years, caring for over 800 people.

Its original charter was to rehouse aged people living in poor conditions, but has since expanded into quality residential care, with a stress on rehabilitation, dementia care and community support services.

The concert will be performed at St. John’s Cathedral and feature a recital of Misericordiae Domini and the First Great Mass in C Minor by Wolfgang Mozart.

All donations are welcome. Crossed cheque payable to Helping Hand.

All donations will go towards the support of residential homes for the aged, including the Father Burke Care Home for the Elderly.
