The gift of marriage

Two friends that I treat like my own siblings tied the knot as they made their marriage vows on July 19.

Although we are not related by blood, Rina and Noel Qua, and myself treat one another as family. I am really happy, because it was an answered prayer for me. I was the one who encouraged the new couple to receive the sacrament of matrimony. Although I was unable to witness their vows, I was really happy for them that finally they received the blessing from heaven.

Through their marriage journey, I continue to pray, support and stand behind them, giving spiritual advice when they need me as their big sister. I am thankful to God for sending the couple to be a part of my second family in a foreign land.

May the Lord God continue to bless their marriage and till death do they part. I would like to extend my big thanks and appreciation to Father Luigi Bonalumi for officiating at their marriage. Likewise for their families and friends who prayed and witnessed their vows. I was inspired by a quote of Pope Francis to the young which says, “Don’t be afraid of taking definitive steps, like that of marriage.”

I pray for all couples that they will stay true to the vows they made before God. May the Lord continue to bless them.
