Our Lady of the Rosary celebrates 63rd birthday

The parish of Our Lady of the Rosary in Pokfield Road, Kennedy Town, celebrated its 63rd birthday with a bilingual Mass celebrated by John Cardinal Tong Hon; together with by Father Francis Tam Kam-wing, our parish priest; his assistant, Father Dominic Lui Chi-man; and Father Efren Ojeda; and assisted by a deacon, Reverend Arjay Venus.

We were blessed to have Cardinal Tong to celebrate the Mass for us considering that he just arrived from Rome that day and had not taken his rest. His message about the rosary touched us.

Cardinal Tong said wearing the rosary on our body can protect us from every danger in life, because Our Lady of the Rosary handles the universe and no one can destroy her power, because it was given to her by God.

Our Mother Mary always looks at us with mercy. The cardinal invited us to contemplate the merciful face of her son, Jesus Christ.

A tea party followed the Mass in the school hall. It was attended by the Chinese parishioners, as well as people from the English-speaking communities of the parish.

On that day, Father Tam also distributed food among the poor around Kennedy Town, sharing with them the love of God.
