Proclaiming Christ as king in Discovery Bay

In Philippians 2:10 St. Paul states, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those that are in heaven, on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue should profess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

The parishioners of the Trinity Chapel in Discovery Bay once again publicly expressed the important truth that Jesus is the King of the Universe with a solemn Eucharistic procession immediately following a Mass on November 20.

Father Manoj Mullackal led the procession with the blessed sacrament under a canopy held by four parishioners as shelter. They were flanked by another four parishioners holding lamps and followed by a platform with four parishioners carrying the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Altar servers holding flags, parishioners carrying lamps and children dressed as angels in white walked along the main road in unison singing hymns and praying the rosary. The procession ended with a benediction in the beach area where an altar was prepared in advance.

It was indeed a most blessed day. Christ, our saviour and our king, help us renew our allegiance to him. We pray that more parishes in Hong Kong will organise Eucharistic processions and profess “Christ the King, Your kingdom come!”
