A message from the Catholic Church Lenten Campaign

Lent is approaching. The Church in Hong Kong is organising its annual Lenten Campaign under the theme: Upholding Marriage and Family values with the Love of God, which will run from 1 March 1 to April 12.

Reverend Andrew Au Gar-wai, the chairperson of the Lenten Campaign Organising Committee, is appealing to parishes, Catholic schools, Catholic institutions and communities to participate through prayer, reflection and sacrifice.

Beginning on February 10, the Lenten Campaign Organising Committee will be distributing Lenten Campaign promotional materials to parishes, Catholic institutions and schools.

In addition, there will be a Lenten Charitable Award scheme to encourage participation by both parents and children. Activities include drawing exercises, blogging short articles and organising hunger awareness meals

Holders of the Paschal Lambs are reminded to bring them with their Lenten sacrifices in support of the needy, to the parish on Palm Sunday (April 9).

The Organising Committee will hold a briefing session for school teachers, Sunday School teachers and school pastoral assistants on February 18 (Saturday) at 2.00pm in the hall at Rosary parish, Tsimshatsui, to deepen their understanding of Lent and to demonstrate the use of the CDs and other relevant Lenten promotional materials.

The guest speaker will be Father Dominic Lui Chi-man. Registration forms can be downloaded from the Lenten Campaign website.
