Inspired by the pope

Tu produced a series of photographs over two years of expatriate families living in Hangzhou and entered it in the in the people category of the 2017 International Photography Awards-China. He took the bronze medal in October.
He considered the subject matter to partly be an exploration of globalisation, saying that he received is inspiration from Pope Francis’ frequent pleas to care for immigrant families.
A love of his own family albums and taking his own photographs during his childhood, put Tu on a career path as a photographer.
Tu said people allowed him to take pictures that act as a window on cultural diversity.
