Seminarians walk to promote vocations

HONG KONG (SE): The Holy Spirit Seminary held a walk for vocations from Yuen Long to Aberdeen from August 28 to 31, to mark the beginning of the new semester.
The rector of the Seminary, Bishop Joseph Ha Chi-shing, together with the seminarians, walked to Ss. Peter and Paul parish, Yuen Long; Holy Redeemer parish, Tuen Mun; Ss Cosmas and Damian parish, Tsuen Wan; and the Cathedral of Immaculate Heart Conception parish, Caine Road.
During the journey, they prayed, reviewed their pastoral training experiences and met with the priests from the different parishes. The walk concluded at the Holy Spirit Seminary in Aberdeen. There are nine seminarians at present.
Bishop Ha told the Kung Kao Po on August 24 that he hoped the walk would help to promote vocations and provide an opportunity to the seminarians leran more about pastoral work in different parishes.
The Holy Spirit Seminary is approaching its 90th anniversary and Bishop Ha plans to hold a walk for vocations from Sai Kung to celebrate the event.
The minor seminary was first set up in Sai Kung and was later moved to Aberdeen.
The bishop added that a walk for vocation is a good way to show the importance of returning to simple living in a modern world.
