Three professions for Franciscan Missionary Sisters

Hong Kong (SE): On August 11, the feast of St. Clare of Assisi, the rite of Profession in Consecrated Life was celebrated for three members of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows. Sister Maria Martha Santos made her final profession, while two novices, Sister Maria Corazon Liwanag and Sister Maria Francis Lee, made their first profession.

Mass was concelebrated by vicar general, Father Dominic Chan Chi-ming and 12 priests of the diocese. Also present were a priest and two religious sisters from Henyang in Hunan province, together with Franciscan brothers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, and many laypeople.

Sister Santos and Sister Liwanag are from The Philippines, while Sister Lee is from Hong Kong and was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, Wanchai. All three will be assigned to the congregation’s education apostolate, with Sister Santos and Sister Lee joining the staff of Immaculate Heart of Mary College and Kindergarten, and Sister Liwanag beginning training as a kindergarten teacher.
