Beginning life at 102

HONG KONG (SE): The Christmas Vigil Mass at St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged in Sheung Shui last month was not only a celebration of the birth of Jesus, but also the birth of new life for 102-year-old Yu Yuet-Mei, who received the sacrament of baptism from Bishop Joseph Ha Shi-ching.

Yu chose the name of Mary as her baptismal name.

Lofty and less philosophical incentives for baptism

HONG KONG (UCAN): Around 3,200 adults were baptised in Hong Kong parishes on Easter Night, March 26, a few hundred less than in the previous two years.

Middle-aged Paul Lo said, “I think the seed of faith was sown in my mind a long time ago when I studied in a Salesian primary school.”
