The good shepherd
The first image of the Good Shepherd in our mind is that of the Master who holds a lamb in his arms or on the shoulders. It is true: Jesus is the good shepherd who goes out of his way to search for the lost sheep, an image from the Gospel of Luke (15:4-8). |

(John 10: 27-28). |

Fourth Sunday of Easter: The shepherd
In the Old Testament, God is often portrayed as a shepherd who guides, protects, and nourishes his people (Psalms 80:2; 23); “he gathers the lambs in his arms, and gently leading those that are with young” (Isaiah 40:11). He takes care of Israel that has been brought to ruin by unworthy kings and promises: “I will gather the remnant of my sheep from every land to which I have driven them and I will bring them back to the grasslands. They will be fruitful and increase in number. |

Mabuting pastol

The good shepherd
When we talk about Jesus the Good Shepherd, the first image that comes to mind is that of the Master who holds a lamb in his arms or on his shoulders. It is true: Jesus is the good shepherd who goes out of his way in search of his lost sheep, but this is a reproduction of the parable found in the gospel of Luke (15:4-8). |
