Where has the Haiyan relief money gone?

MANILA (UCAN): Caritas Philippines has called for an audit of funds received by the government for victims of Typhoon Haiyan which devastated the central Philippines in 2013.

Father Edu Gariguez, the secretary of the Social Action Secretariat, said people need to see what the government has done in the three years since the devastation.

Appeal for devastated Haiti

PORT-AU-PRINCE (SE): “Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. This is the biggest disaster since the 2010 earthquake when 100,000 people died. People need food and water immediately. Materials to repair houses…,” Caritas Haiti said in a press release on October 6.

New administration urged to investigate unused Yolanda funds

MANILA (Agencies): Caritas Philippines has called on the country’s next administration to urgently investigate funds donated towards the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) amounting to billions of pesos, left unused by the government of outgoing president, Noynoy Aquino.
