Trinity Sunday: Misyong pagkakaisa!

Lumapit si Hesus at sinabi sa kanila, “Ibinigay na sa akin ang lahat ng kapangyarihan sa langit at sa lupa. Kaya, humayo kayo at gawin ninyong alagad ko ang lahat ng bansa binyagan ninyo sila sa ngalan ng Ama at ng Anak at ng Espiritu Santo, at turuang sumunod sa lahat ng ipinag-utos ko sa inyo. Tandaan ninyo: ako’y laging kasama ninyo hanggang sa katapusan ng sanlibutan” (Mt. 28: 18-20).

Trinity Sunday: The joy of discovering the hidden mystery

In primitive communities, baptism was administered in the name of Jesus. Peter, on the day of Pentecost, turned to the people and urged them to repent and be baptised “in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven” (Acts 2:38). The custom of baptising in the name of the Trinity was introduced later. It is the formula that Matthew puts in the mouth of the Risen One. It reflects the liturgical practice of the second half of the first century A.D.

Anak ng Diyos!

Ipinagdiriwang natin ngayon ang Kapistahan ng Banal na Santatlo. Iisang Diyos, tatlong persona. Paano nangyari yan? Mahirap intindihin pero, ito ang katotohanan ng ating Panginoon, na S’ya ay Ama, Anak at Espiritu Santo. Ang kapistahan ng Banal na Santatlo ay nagpaalala sa atin ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaisa. Pagmamahal ang susi ng pagkaka-isa. Ang Diyos ay pag-ibig, kung may pag-ibig may pagakakaisa.

The Spirit carrying out God’s project

The first reading narrates the project of the Father in creation. In the second reading it is explained that this project is carried out by the Son, but we do not yet know that the path to salvation will be not only strange, but even absurd. That is why the Spirit’s work is necessary. Only he can lead us to adhere to the project of the Father and the work of the Son.
