HONG KONG (SE): Prior to the annual July 1 protest march, Church leaders urged around 250 participants at an ecumenical prayer meeting held at Paterson Street, Causeway Bay, not to fear or lose hope, but continue to show mercy and fight for justice and most importantly to keep one’s conscience alive. Those present were urged to defend the city with Christian values. |

HONG KONG (SE): Consciousness of gathering in an atmosphere of increasing political suppression dominated the mood of around 300 people who prayed in music and words at the performance space in Victoria Park prior to joining the annual handover rally on July 1. Sam Fong Wing-fong said that he decided to attend the prayer meeting because he believes that if people in Hong Kong are ever going to achieve what they want, they must keep insisting on it. |
