Spurious events for the LegCo

HONG KONG (SE): The Hong Kong Catholic Social Workers’ Organisation, the Justice and Peace Commission and the Social Concern Group from St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Tsing Yi, as well as around 20,000 people who signed a petition saying that the disqualification is trampling on the election results, have expressed deep concern over the barring of four members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) by the court on July 14. |

Church pre-election seminars get lacklustre response

HONG KONG (UCAN): Although the Legislative Council (LegCo) elections in Hong Kong drew a record 1.98 million people out to the polls on September 4, a lower than usual attendance at pre-election Church-run seminars and forums may indicate a drop in interest in what the Church thinks on matters political or that parishes are politically asleep. |
