HAMBURG (SE): In a message sent to the heads of state gathering in Hamburg for the G20 meeting on July 7, Pope Francis appealed for an absolute priority to be given to the poorest people in the worldwide community.

No Mass during G20

HANGZHOU (UCAN): Government authorities in Hangzhou announced that during the G20 Summit scheduled to be held in the city from August 31 to September 2 all churches will be closed for security reasons. Hangzhou is scheduled to host the finance deputies as well as Sherpa (deputies of heads of state) meetings. However, as some heads of state will accompany their deputies the authorities are taking a series of security measures, one of which bans religious worship. |
