May God be glorified says jubilarian

Father Edward Yu Fook-min, at the age of 81, is celebrating the Golden Jubilee of his priestly ordination this year. People love him for his homilies laced with stories. His simplicity and soft-spoken demeanor make him endearing. His series of talks on the writings of St. John in the Bible made the gospel messages comprehensible to the ordinary faithful.

Heart in China, home in Hong Kong

A Paris-born boy, fourth in a family of five, dreamed of becoming a priest ever since his first Holy Communion. He was moved by the stories of the priests working in Communist China. Hearing the accounts of the pains and struggles of persecuted Christians in China keeping their faith alive and receiving the Eucharist, he began to dream of going there as a missionary.

Long years of service to the people of God celebrated

HONG KONG (SE): At an afternoon tea reception held in the Caritas Community Hall in Caine Road prior to a Mass of thanksgiving to acknowledge the long years of service to the people of Hong Kong of brothers, sisters and priests marking their 25th, 50th, 60th and 70th anniversaries, the bishop of the city, John Cardinal Tong Hon, said he has great esteem for them.

Celebrating the service offered by priests and religious in the diocese

 

HONG KONG (SE): “We offer our gratitude for the service and sacrifice of those who today are celebrating their 70th, 60th, golden and silver jubilees of ordination or entry into the religious life,” John Cardinal Tong Hon said at an afternoon tea held in the Caritas Community Hall, Mid-Levels, to mark the long service of priests and religious in the diocese on December 7.
