Catholics won’t meddle in internal affairs of Orthodox Church

VATICAN CITY (CNS): “The Catholic Church must not meddle in the internal affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church nor in political questions. This is my attitude and the attitude of the Holy See today. And those who meddle are not obeying the Holy See,” Pope Francis said on May 30 when he met with a delegation led by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of external relations for the Russian Orthodox Church.

Russian Orthodox celebrate 300 years in China

 

HONG KONG (SE): The Russian Orthodox Mission in China commemorated its 300th anniversary of mission to the Middle Kingdom on December 6 and 7, beginning with an early morning Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at Ss. Peter and Paul parish in Hong Kong, presided over by Bishop Ephraim, from Bikin, the provost of the Khabarovsk Theological Seminary in Russia.

Orthodox.cn reported that this was the first hierarchal service in Hong Kong since a visit to the parish by Bishop Yuvenaly of Zaraisk in 1968.
