Young people hope to take Taizé spirit back to China

HONG KONG (UCAN): Many participants from mainland China enjoyed the spiritual experience of the Taizé Community’s August 8 to 12 International Meeting of Young Adults in Hong Kong.
 
They said they hoped to share Taizé’s spirit of pursuing unity and reconciliation with other young people.
 
Maria, from Zhejiang province in eastern China, did a month of volunteering in Taizé, France, in August of 2011.

Experience of God needs to be shared Taizé volunteers say

HONG KONG (SE): Volunteers at the International Meeting of Young Adults said that the peace of mind brought about by Taizé prayers has motivated them to bring their memorable experience with God to others.
 
Around 100 people from overseas and Hong Kong volunteered to help during the event, organised by the Taizé Community from August 8 to 12.

Division among Churches obstructs the joy of the gospel

HONG KONG (SE): “The divisions within and between the communities, the Churches and society have grown deeper, more hurting. And therefore, reconciliation is a need of the time. Why don’t we, people of different Churches, come together more often? Why don’t we pray together? This shouldn’t be limited to a one-time event, instead, it should be part of our daily Christian life.

Taizé participants learn about the migrants in their midst

HONG KONG (SE): Participants at the workshop, Strangers in our midst?, called on people to treat migrants as their neighbours. The event, addressing the situations of the migrants in the city, was organised as part of the Taizé International Meeting of Young Adults in Hong Kong, and held at Kowloon Union Church, Jordan Road, on August 9.

Taizé brother from Hong Kong glad to hold gathering at home

HONG KONG (SE): Brother Lucas Ho Kam-tong of the Taizé Community who left Hong Kong 40 years ago to go to Taizé, France, said he is happy to see that Hong Kong will be hosting the International Meeting Of Young Adults 2018 from August 8 to 12.
