The rosary is our daily history

VATICAN (SE): Pope Francis described the rosary as in many ways being a synthesis of the history of God’s mercy at a Mass celebrated on October 8, the vigil of the Marian Jubilee, a part of the observance of the Year of Mercy.

But he added that the repetitive prayer, far from removing us from the problems of life, demands that we immerse ourselves in the history of each day, so as to grasp the signs of Christ’s presence in our midst.

Meeting under the theme, The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and in the Contemporary World, the gathering took place in what is described as a protected space where the Church can experience the action of the Holy Spirit.

VATICAN (CNS): Pope Francis is looking for missionaries of mercy, priests who are known for their preaching, dedication to hearing confession and giving absolution.

Priests interested in becoming one of the special communicators of God’s mercy are invited to apply online, providing that they have the support of their bishop or superior.

Pope puts stress on mercy for Jubilee Year

VATICAN (SE): “I have asked the Church in this Jubilee Year to rediscover the richness encompassed by spiritual and corporate works of mercy,” Pope Francis says in a letter to the president of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelisation, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, on September 1.
