Women should have vote at synod say superiors general

VATICAN (CNS): Although bishops should make up the majority of voting members at a Synod of Bishops, the fact that the body is only consultative means women should be included as full members just as priests and religious brothers are, said the superiors general of the Dominicans, the Jesuits and the Conventual Franciscans who are voting members of the synod, at a Vatican briefing on October 15.

Pope calls for a synod ‘anointed by hope’

VATICAN (Agencies): The Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Young People,  Faith and Vocations opened on October 3 with Pope Francis praying for the Holy Spirit to renew hope and dynamism in the Church. 
 
Hope can “broaden our horizons, expand our hearts and transform those frames of mind that today paralyse, separate and alienate us from young people,” said Pope Francis.
