Get into the streets for Mother Earth

HONG KONG (SE): On November 29, the eve of the beginning of the United Nations Conference of Parties on Climate Change in Paris, people in Hong Kong responded to the call of Pope Francis to get out onto the streets and plead for the environment.

An animated Pope Francis said that he wants mess and bustle in the dioceses in his call to Catholic people to get out onto the streets.

Catholic Climate Petition

HONG KONG (SE): The Catholic Climate Movement is collecting signatures from concerned people to petition world political leaders and representatives of various bodies at the upcoming United Nations Framework Conference on Climate Change 21 to be held in Paris from November 30 to December 11 to come to a an ambitious and binding agreement.

The petition has the endorsement of Pope Francis

People’s Pilgrimage in Hong Kong

HONG KONG (SE): In what is being billed as a first for Hong Kong, the need for action on the environment has become an issue that is embraced by all faiths.

Over 250 people from the Buddhist, Jewish, Islamic, Baha’i, Sikh, Christian, Brahma Kumari and Hindu faiths gathered to walk for climate action in Lantau on September 28.

East Asian bishops sign Catholic Climate Petition in Hong Kong

HONG KONG (SE): A gathering sponsored by the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences held at the Honeyville Canossian Retreat House in Hong Kong from September 8 to 10 endorsed the Global Catholic Climate Movement Climate Petition urging world leaders to adopt a strong and ambitious climate treaty at the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) to be held in Paris in December this year.
