End of Year of Consecrated Life marked

HONG KONG (SE): Although becoming fewer in number, the presence of religious from various congregations and secular institutes of consecrated life are a precious part of the life of the Church, John Cardinal Tong Hon told a Mass celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to mark the end of the Year of Consecrated Life on February 2.

Ecumenical prayer opens legal year

Cooperate with God and break the wall of indifference cardinal urges

HONG KONG (SE): On January 1, the World Day of Peace, John Cardinal Tong Hon urged people to be concerned with the various issues affecting the world and break the wall of indifference.

Holy Door in Hong Kong is open

HONG KONG (SE): As darkness fell across the city of Hong Kong, John Cardinal Tong Hon stood in the flickering light of a phalanx of torch bearers in the grounds of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to formally inaugurate the Jubilee of Mercy in the diocese on December 12.

Beginning with a plea to God to have mercy on the world and its people, the bishop of the diocese prayed to the Lord who forgives faults and heals infirmities, as well as human weakness.
