Pope thanked for extending commission of Missionaries of Mercy

HONG KONG (SE): Father Luigi Bonalumi from the Pontifical Foreign Missions Institute (PIME), expressed gratitude to Pope Francis after meeting him at the Vatican on April 10, for recognising the need to spread God’s forgiveness and mercy to the world.

Pope commissions his Missionaries of Mercy

VATICAN (SE): At a commissioning ceremony on February 9 held at the Vatican for a team of priests from around the world to whom Pope Francis has given the authority to absolve most sins normally reserved to the Holy See, they were told to cover those who come to them with a blanket of mercy.

Known as Missionaries of Mercy, the priests are just one initiative for the Jubilee of Mercy.

Missionaries of mercy from Hong Kong

HONG KONG (UCAN): Hong Kong is not divulging the identity of the priests who volunteered to be part of Pope Francis’ initiative to appoint missionaries of mercy—priests granted the special faculty to absolve sins normally reserved to the Holy See.

A chancery notice published on October 12, said that the bishop of Hong Kong, John Cardinal Tong Hon, will recommend one or two priests to enroll as missionaries of mercy.
