Taiwan president writes to pope

TAIPEI (Agencies): The outgoing president of Taiwan, Ma Ying-jeou, sent a letter to Pope Francis in response to his January 1 World Day of Peace Message, saying that Taiwan is a peace-loving country. Ma expressed strong support for Pope Francis’ message of encouragement to people everywhere not to lose hope in the human ability to conquer evil and to combat resignation and indifference, Taipei’s China Post reported on January 27. |
