Unite in helping needy says message for Diwali

VATICAN (UCAN): Christians and Hindus are bound by their belief in human dignity and share a responsibility to help those in need, Bishop Miguel Ayuso Guixot, the secretary of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, said in a written message to the world’s 1.1 billion Hindus on October 1, in advance of the three-day festival of Diwali which begins on November 7 in most parts of the world, focuses on the victory of truth over lies, light over darkness, life over death and good over evil.

Greetings to the Hindu world

VATICAN (SE): The Vatican sent a message to all people of the Hindu faith during the preparation period for the celebration the festival of Deepavali or Diwali, which this year fell on November 11.

The message reinforces the call to care for the environment and directly links our ability to live in harmony with nature with our ability to live in harmony with each other, saying that it is a key to creating a sustainable peace in the world.
