Vatican judges apparition inauthentic

LIPA (UCAN): A Vatican decision overruling the local bishop on the validity of reported miracles and Marian apparitions at the Carmelite Monastery in Lipa, The Philippines, around 60 years ago has left some people confused.

“People are unhappy, unsatisfied and not at peace with themselves,” retired Archbishop Oscar Cruz said, adding that some followers of Our Lady of Mediatrix of All Graces have been asking for some sort of a review.

Call to axe two bishops

Manila (SE): A diehard supporter of president-elect, Rodrigo Duterte, is calling on people to support a petition to have Archbishop Socrates Villegas and his predecessor in Lingayen-Dagupan, Archbishop Oscar Cruz, fired.

An online petition signed by Lorbertson Borres Jr. was posted on change.org on May 26 and by 5.00pm on May 28 had garnered 8,394 signatures.

Yes it was a bad year

MANILA (Agencies): The year just passed was a bad one for The Philippines, Archbishop Oscar Cruz said in describing it as a highly disappointing time, primarily because of the harsh socio-economic realities.

CBCP News reported his as saying, “I call on photographers to visit certain areas in North Harbour to see how people are with poverty as it becomes the new normal. Almost all food commodities in the market are imported, if not smuggled.”
